Hard-headed ----ouch! and Karma.

I was reading a blog post, by a friend on Wills-as in Last one and testament--and thought to myself---I need to share on this subject-and what a great writer she has and is evolving into....."Maria Gets Real",  is the name of her blog and it is really interesting. Check it out....worth the read and with pictures.

I went to the emergency room yesterday. I have had a nerve pulsing-pulsing---just God-awful pain----and finally, yesterday, after three days of it being ouch ( day 1) -OUCH ( day 2) -and then on a scale of 1-10-the pain was unbearable ( day 3) I ended up at the hospital.
So, now,  I am cruising along on some major anti-inflammatory and pain killing drugs, so this will probably be a long blog post--so pace yourself...haha.

I am a hard-headed person who really loathes taking synthetic drugs.
I worked in a sick building and out of 13 women in one office----all but 2, became seriously ill. As in had to leave our jobs, ill.
The doctors I saw,  wanted me to take a bunch of pain meds which I tried and hated--made  me feel so
awful-strung out-weak, etc.
I  was watching a program one day-called:
8 Weeks to Optimum Healing with Andrew Weil, and found after 8 weeks of using his program,  that Drugs were not the answer......Healing was, using healthy alternatives.
However, it has made me hold out on going to the doctor, and sometimes that is a really bad thing-like yesterday.
I  really should have seen someone day 1-and would have been better by now.....not so bad, etc.

Back to the Will...People often times believe that if I write a will-all of my wishes will be observed---this is based on the trust they place in the person supposed to execute said will. Good grief, Charlie Brown.
A favorite saying---WHEN did the lobotomy take place??

And-God forbid-you have a friend, say...you have a common interest-coin collecting----and your friend dies suddenly--you had some coins at his house at the time of his demise---Whut Oh!
GOOD LUCK on retrieving those coins.....even if the Will says your personal property is to be returned to you ( said friend anticipated this might happen).
If the executor wants to be snarky-they can make you prove anything at the deceased home is yours, and if you can't and they are unethical---you are NOT getting your coins back.

People can become ( talking about family members here) so irrational-you swear you do not recognize them-at the time of a parents death.
They feel, for some pathetic reason, that Mother wanted them to have all of the pots and pans----this from your sister the millionaire-that wants for nothing, but needs to get a grip.

It is a sad commentary of the human side of some people. Greed. They become for a moment, insane with it.

I have seen all of the above happen.....and it, along with your grief, really makes you want to cry.

So how can you insure that your final wishes are carried out. Well, you honestly can't. Unless you do some stuff before the final hour.

Give anything ( yes, this includes money) you want someone to have, to them, before you die.
What a friggin novel concept.....it is not.

Do it now--none of us think we will die and so don't do anything at all. And the very thought of death is so unpleasant that we won't even consider that it could happen to us.
It will and does......

There are people who are like-"Oh well, I won't be here-let them figure /fight it out".

Death in a family is probably one of the most prominent separation tools that exist. Meaning  the family members left-become estranged over the "Will" of the deceased.

Being specific-doesn't work.
I know of an instance, where items were left at the dead person's home and were listed, in a codicil ,to be immediately returned to the person to whom they belonged, but were withheld by the family, from the person who owned those items, to the tune of thousands of dollars. Sad and sloppy.

Makes you wonder if this is why people are haunted.......by their own feelings of guilt. Hmmmm.

Court will  not help-----the above executor was taken to court by three heirs.....to no avail. A story emerged that the deceased person's home had been broken into many times-so the items mentioned were never found. While the executor was waiting to list items for Probate. Very convenient---but it worked.

Plus, lawyers are terribly expensive-----around $250 per hour? Wow!

Fun times.......I know...but consider......if it matters to you--be pro-active...if not, then no problemo-----
Stay healthy folks. And distribute now...while you still can.

Make sure your wishes are carried out-know they are-because you do so.....Now!!!!!!

Our Destiny........

Really excited today---my future Son-in law defends his thesis for his PHD today......and it has me thinking...how many of us achieve our destiny?????

He is a Math person......lets face it---to have a PHD in Math-you are a Math person..

Okay-okay what exactly does that mean--well , here I would say?????-ask him.

He once told me, when I was visiting them-he and my lovely Daughter ( who is an achiever of a masters in the Fine Art of Poetry--(-among other things-degrees-etc.)-you may have seen my sometimes lame attempts at this and think-boy, good thing she went out on her own limb---laughing) are living in Boston, that there was an equation that no one has been able to solve-and it had many possibilities---so I said, "put it on a machine-computer-and let it run until you get the hit"---and low and behold that is what they are doing......( I am sure I said this all wrong)

Everyone-EVERYONE-has talents and gifts........EVERYONE.

Some of us take much longer---due to circumstances and doubt-to achieve goals and success, in a given field.
And, some peeps work extremely hard and achieve amazing results---said Son-in law-----I am so very proud of him.....he is awesome!

I would say--Never give up a hope or dream......it is there to be developed into your life.

Good luck to you all....as for me:

I saw a lad-plan all set
was in his genes
to be developed
work he did
achieve he has
Dr., he is.

Haiku----for the Dr.
Poetry is a love of mine---no matter how bad at it I am.......lol. Rock on, Mr. Roo!!!!!!!!

We all have friends and foes....

Poem:
We all have friends and foes
That's pretty much the way it goes
No one is completely well liked
Doesn't mean your head will end up on a pike
Does mean aggravating people will be part of your life
but, where I really object
is when
without a--- I have been
to see you or know anything about you at all
I will try to make an ass out of myself
and create a damn pall
that will hang over both you and me
and I'll call
all the shots from a place
no one wants to be at all
oh, guess you figured it out
that is where I'll be-it is with me
Oh no!
Let's just face it, this is gonna be someone you know.
lol....and grrrr.
Shake them lose..........run! Life is too damn short.

Sometimes it just doesn't feel right.

We all should be  concerned  with the upcoming Presidential Election this year.
Reason: our Country's future rides on it.
"Oh, Please", you say......I tell you it is the truth!

I think it strange and even sad-possibly bad---that most people will say, " Oh, all politicians are the same". As tho there is absolutely nothing to choose between two obviously distinctive candidates.

And then, this is absolutely insane? that some people will just vote their ticket----doesn't matter who is running. Good Grief, Charlie Brown.......indeed.
Their "party" must win at all costs.
I say to that, "Sometimes, just sometimes the costs are too damn high".

I think we glean all of our info from the following: TV-Newspapers-Internet-attending rallies and debates ( allot less prominent) and, of course, each other.

But what-----just for instance--what if the news media was not sharing all of the info with you? What if there were total scandals and issues that never saw the light of day?
Once again-all together---"Oh, please"!!!!!!!-but what if?

You will always having individuals poo-pooing conspiracy theories and others promoting them....so how in the heck do we determine the truth?????

Well, there are some real serious issues facing the present administration: Fast and Furious, Solyndra, -and the economy and national debt.......these no doubt will be brought up during any debates.....
On the other side of the coin--affairs-business practices-etc. ad nauseum......

How can a normal person choose?---if you say how someone looks-act-talks-presents themselves----I will simply ask: "When did the lobotomy occur"?

But, then, how? do we choose? On the issues that concern us, of course........on the things that matter the very most to our continued happy-well adjusted existence.

Research your candidates view and promise on these matters.
Then if your candidate wins, or even another---have your Congressman or woman,  "hold their feet to the fire" ( speak up) if, as the Southerner, I have committed the rest of my life to  likes to say, " That dog just won't hunt".   Serious!!!!!

Make them do the job they are supposed to do----or get them out......NEXT!
God Bless us all and the next President of the United States.

It is a quandary...and allot is riding on us as citizens, getting it right. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Get out the VOTE!

Security----cell phone-112.

I was reading a post on Facebook, from my Sister-a kind of out there for everyone FYI-and thought it was something I should share.

The story goes-
A young woman was driving down the road (sounds like the beginning to a poorly repeated joke---it's not-and hang in there......)

(It doesn't say if she was on a country road or a city street-but I imagine she was on a country road) and she sees behind her an unmarked car with the blinking lights ......I guess on the grill----
Now her parents always told her ( and I wonder why?) NEVER to stop for an unmarked car in a secluded area.
So, the young lady calls 112 on her cell and tells a dispatcher that she will pull over when she gets to an upcoming Bank parking lot.
The dispatcher checks---and low and behold there isn't an unmarked car from the department in this area......so the dispatcher tells her to stay cool-keep on the line-DON'T stop or slow down----and she was sending someone out right away.......
Four police cars surround her and the car behind her------they get the guy in the unmarked car out and cuff him-----he is a rapist-convicted and now, out and operating in this area.

So many things come to mind here------did someone outfit this car for him---was it stolen? Were the police aware of him? doing this in the area?
You assume yes, as her parents were telling her not to stop for anyone in a secluded area....she knew to call this 112 number on her cell.....which I have never heard of?
This 112 on the cell is for all states? So this must be a real problem????everywhere in the US?

Being cautious is always the right thing to do.....most people are afraid to disobey a request from a supposed police car......ikes.
And there-in is the problem and how criminals are able to take advantage.

To me, this is so creepy...and dangerous and shows an advancing theme of the criminal being bold and scary.

I guess being up on the news where you live is a huge factor as well.
Call the police and set up a time to talk to a Police officer and there are also classes given by Police Departments on self defense.
Good place to ask all the tough questions.

Stay safe out there....never assume when you are alone---that anyone you meet isn't size-ing you up as their next victim.
Sounds so negative..I know, but is very important.
A few years back, I had to take a tactical defense class-was a mandatory request-(lol) from my department.
The Instructor kept telling us all these horror stories-all true---which I DID NOT want to hear.
When asked why? we had to listen-we were told that if-only if-we think about some of them-it would prepare us for scary-creepy criminals and how to outsmart them.
You see, we don't normally think like they do----and that is how they are able to take advantage....almost negative reinforcement of what they will do and we can avoid.
If the person is bent on making mischief, then you are prepared.

Most people are embarrassed and feel they will look foolish...however, if someone isn't a criminal and you are on a dark street and they come too close---and you scream at them---and they have a Sister or Mother or Wife----they will appreciate your fear.

And there are other things to do.
 I love this story:
A police officer stops a speeder and walks up to the drivers side of a chic sports car and looks into the most lovely blue eyes of a 70
something  ( year old) woman.
He asks for her license and registration and insurance card and notices that while she is going thru her cards he sees she is a conceal carry cardholder.
So he ask-any weapons in the car? and the lady produces a 45 in the console-between the seats-a 9mm from the glove box and a 360 from the depths of her purse!!!!!
The officer looks at her and asks: "What are you so afraid of?"
She calmly looks him in the eyes, smiles and says, " not a damn thing!".

I guess in our present economy-lives and times---we must answer the question-what makes you feel secure?
It is pointed out that the police are not going to be there when something happens-they show up after.
Not a very pleasant thought. Prevention-like with anything--is the best medicine.
Be prepared. To the best of our ability. Goodness.

A poem....to paint...alas, to dream.

The day that went long

I sang that song
who were you
when it was new?
Time can drag
not my bag
bored as hell
shovel and pail
To dig me out
of misery and then fail......

Okay, I wanted to show how easy it is to do something you might not ever do, altho, I have been informed that rhyme is not in our time, anymore. lol.

I used to love Haiku poetry and wrote alot:

silver, was  the road
with sky so so blue
the winter has dawned.......

At least try to do what you really want to explore  and don't let anyone irritate you out of doing it......
Enjoy......can be a hobby or full time enterprise......

The Sparkle....Zing-Pow-Boom!!!!!!!

Okay, anyone reading that title would undoubtedly wonder what???? is she talking about?
I had a very enlightening experience yesterday and I am seeing things much more clearly.
Do you ever wonder about the after- as in here-after?

I have to admit, I still have some beautiful Silver Stars hanging in my kitchen, left over or up from holiday decorations,  and I really don't want to take them down.  I am trying to figure a way to keep them up and blending with the decor--at least until we get thru the damn coldest months of winter.

I mean todays high is 27* and I need some sparkle in my life, dammit. Less sunshine-then I will add some sparkle. Okay alot.....lol. A shimmer of glitter---all year long.

This is how I see the after-life. I see alot of the glitz and glitter that is in the old movies.......There is no more 'black and white' movie version of a glorious Christmas tree than the one you see in the movie, "The Bishops Wife". It is so pretty.

Also, the beautiful antique glitter ornaments in silver and gold and copper......wow, I really love those. So what is wrong with just incorporating glitter full time in everything you do? Not a thing......I do!!!!

I imagine the Angels are so wow-wow-wow beautiful...just one small aspect of a very amazing and hard to imagine in its entirety "Heaven"....I mean lets face it---the Big Guy is gonna be so daunting-in a wow-way---that we will probably have to wear glitter-fringed sunglasses to view him......smiling.

What got me off on this track? I think as we face a very cold and blustery-so far-winter we need to do anything to revive our spirits. Keep them up and soaring.......to new heights. To achieve our goals and exceed them.

Make the most of all of our New Year.......and continue to feel and see the sparkles and glitter everywhere we look----holidays glory or not. Lets just be honest, I love and need it!
