The common cold and sore throat.......great-just great.

I really thought I might, given the warm weather we have had, escaped getting a cold or sore throat of the season.

Not so, unfortunately.......it has happened and with a vengeance.
All in the past two days.

My throat feels like I have two rocks on either side of it, below the chin, on the outside and in,  and it is the bloody scratchy-tacky feeling in the back-that no amount of drinking-soothing with drops will help.

I sound like a croaking frog.

And it hurts!

And Yes, I am cranky.And whingeing...sorry.
Yes, I am using the advice on the first blog post I wrote today.

There are some things we can do--that do not include drugs.......prescribed ones.
I like using healthy options first.
Vitamin C---loads.
Orange juice.
Clear liquids-loads.
Chicken Soup-noodles-optional.
Gelatin-(I have always had this when sick).
Tylenol, for fever and pain. ( I am prone to migraines)
Ricola drops-herbal.
Extra sleep.
I stock up on old movies-I have watched: "Romeo and Juliet"-"Grumpy Old Men"-The entire "Jesse Stone" series, and how I wish Rita Mae Brown would make her books into movies.....oh well.
Books.
Nice warm soaking lavender salt  baths.
Anything that comforts----go for it! Baby yourself and let others do this too.
Feel better soon. I hope I do. lol.

Time away! right here in real time.

Everyone needs time to one's self.

It is a good thing to take some time and reflect on....so many things.

It is good to meditate and breathe our way thru a period of time-set aside-just expressly for doing this.
I have experienced a program  in which breathing had played a huge part in  healing.

Even now-whenever stressed, I will inhale, slowly thru my nose-hold the breath for a count of 8-and then slowly release it back thru my mouth.
I am amazed at how long the exhale is, as tho the breath is being brought back from my toes.
 I think it is.

This process relaxes me better than any other and allows me to release, with the breath, pain.
Sore muscles or strain........seem to be blown away on the same breath.
Ahhhhh!

Using imagery is another fantastic way to help with this process.
Imagining that I am on a beautiful beach or in a tropical locale with such a lush landscape--cue the flowers and heady ocean breeze--is a very good thing.

Now, add your favorite people and animals and then make them act---just exactly like you want them to.

It is amazing what can be created in 15 mins.

We are told to take time and smell the flowers..........ditto the fresh air-wherever our imagination travels.
Make it some place entirely from your own imagination...or a location you hope to visit someday soon.

Stay healthy....cleanse your aura....imbibe peace and strength.

 Grow in good health.

What to do? Why, share it with you!

I just joined a company-direct sales-that I love. It has it all. All the things to sweeten the pot, but more importantly, "It Works". The name of the company.
It is a family owned and operated company that moved to Florida and are now sharing the company with anyone who wants to join:
As a loyal customer-you get a wonderful discount on the products.
As a distributor---you earn money and free product-to use yourself.
The product line is excellent, by all accounts and for many years now.
They offer body wraps-herbal-and facial wraps-applications-----and many other products for slimming and rejuvenation of a tired body--------lifting-firming----and all at the best price I have ever seen.
Back in the 90's I looked into body wraps.
I loved the idea of detoxification, and improving body tone. UNTIL I asked the price, at a local salon.
It was prohibitive...unfortunately........this product line, while world class---is within reach.
And as a distributor----the bonuses are, well, remarkable.
I am impressed and you will be too.
Ask me:
https://blfaux.myfitworks.com
lee.fox61@gmail.com
I really would love to share this with you. For you. It is a very good thing. Best I have seen in a long time-screams OPPORTUNITY! very Exciting!
Just ask me!

Secret Shoppers and Ga-zillions spent on Market Research.

If you have ever worked in retail you can have a tough time pleasing everyone.
One of the most difficult things to do is to  be diplomatic and upbeat all the time.
Add to this, that most retail stores have a list of other things you must do-to ( this is written here on purpose) the customer, as well.
As an avid shopper, and I am not kidding-I have mystery shopped for companies-and I have been a clerk, and an assistant manager  in retail stores.
I have also participated in market research panels and product evaluation.
    It Was really fun!

Kind of on both sides of the counter and in-between......

I have worked Holidays, as a clerk,  where you wish you could ask for  some of the most obnoxious and angry people to have stayed home.
And to Please  stop torturing their poor children, by dragging them out-hungry and screaming, for you to amuse, or more likely, babysit, while they shop your store.
It is one thing to have last minute shopping and be on edge---quite another to be a rude individual that the store clerk never wants to see again, or probably anyone that person ever comes into contact with feels the same about them , as the clerk.

At the last place I did retail time at---we had a special name for those people who had a special attitude. Will not share here.

In complete fairness, we also had the most lovely and wonderful customers you could ever hope for. And usually there was a huge difference between them.

What is objectionable, for a clerk, dependent on commission, is spending all of their time with a customer that is a "Shopper".
Usually, whatever you spend valuable time selling them-gets returned as part of their "shop".
And some companies ding the clerk for this return......really does not foster happiness.
And it is not fair......but for those who work in retail, most companies don't always care what their employees think. Really stupid.
Some retail establishments have what is called a "revolving door" policy-----no one will stay employed there very long-due to whatever bad conditions exist.
However, some wonderful companies are the exact opposite and benefit from a happy and positive work force.

Back to the Shoppers:
Some shoppers are doing a job-for a company that handles market research-for that  retail shop. Actually, schedules people to go into a store-restaurant-etc., and then later provide an evaluation of their experience.

Also, I have been so incensed at a bad shopping experience-that I have contacted the home office-usually online-to have the matter at hand corrected.

This is much appreciated by most companies, as if you do not relate this---and I want to say here-that most people who have a bad shopping experience will simply never "darken the door" of that place again, they ( the company who hired this nutter)   have no way of knowing you had a bad experience-----their reduced sales do not reflect names.

However, if you have the time-relax and calm down-and contact the offending sales clerk's company ( home office-customer service) --they usually will def. correct the egregious error committed by offensive clerk.
    Sometimes very nicely.
It is nice to honor a clerk, also, who gave you outstanding service.......I do this often.
So, go online-----and look for Secret Shopper opps.
If you have to pay a fee, I will tell you there are companies where you do not have to do this.
Think of a large company in Cincinnati that sells toilet paper. This is market research. They have you evaluate a product they produce.....or are in the process of putting on a grocery shelve.
Secret Shopping is usually handled by an independent company, providing this service, ( a report of the shopping experience)  for many different retail establishments.
Restaurants-clothing-car parts-cell phones-----it can and does-the list- go on and on.

I recommend a personal referral for the Secret Shopping experience.
Ask someone who you may know who is doing this.
It will not cut into their opportunity, as you will only be able to shop for the same company or do market research for  the same  product line, about once every so many weeks/ months.
You do get paid and sometimes, very well paid, for a fun shopping experience.
If this is what you find interesting-----go for it-you really are helping everyone have a better shopping experience.

The coolest stuff ever!

I wanted to write about deals I saw while out shopping: Tada......

Okay, I will not lie, shopping rates right up there with eating for me-necessary to sustain life.

With the given economy, alot of people are window shopping-" I'm just looking-thanks"! Me too.

I was at the Kenwood Towne Center-Kenwood, Ohio, on Friday, and I could not believe  the clearance pricing.

I mean, one of the greatest secrets around is J C Penney. ( Not at Kenwood---it's in Deerfield-at the corner of Montgomery Road and Fields Ertle)
I worked there and had a woman bring up a designer dress, all told, after clearance-sales we were having-a whopping $2.00-I could not believe it. Unreal. Surreal? I rang her out-so it was def. real.......they-JCP-have amazing sales like that all the time....pretty cool.
And a man can be totally outfitted and in style-complete Men's department and nice stuff. Suits-coats-shoes ( nice-in the Shoe Department) -shirts-ties-and Roos!

So back to the Mall-Kenwood Towne Center is so pretty and nice to visit anytime of the year. Nordstroms-Dillards-Macys----the Anchor Stores.....
We have a friend who works for Macy's and they have incredible sales and merchandise also.....check it out. The formal dresses are wonderful-once again-selection-style and colors.....POW!
I went into Jule ( at the Nordstrom's end) -which is a shop that has purses and jewelery: and all handbags were.......wait for it.....$19.00-Incredible! Just incredible! With such a great variety of styles and colors to choose from.
They also have rose gold watches with crystals all around the dial for:.......$12.00-I could not believe my ears.......so I made her-the shopkeeper repeat that---yep!-it was $12.00..maybe $12.99--I was in a bit of a daze.....Shoppers high! Woo-wee!
In a crowded room-from across the room or on a stormy night, driving in the rain-in the opposite direction going 60mph-could you tell that the watch for $12.99 from Jule, wasn't as beautiful as the $150.00 one from _____ or the $1,500 one from _____those had a label or  real diamonds and gold on the terribly pricey one....
This mini-editorial-is from  my Fiance'-a pretty savvy shopper himself. Stuff-for "The little Machine Shop on the Prairie". haha.
I picked up on the run-a lunchbox at Nordstrom's Cafe----they have coffee-yogurts-lunches-----and alot more-right beside the Store-and on the other side of Jule.....
Mine was just yummy-3 cheeses-2 giant strawberries-a bunch of grapes-and wheat crackers. Under $6.00---the usual price.....Nordstrom's has a restaurant in the main store--Grille-some such thing---trust me-the Cafe is yum! The yogurt parfaits are yogurt-fruit and granola for like $3 something....
Then I had to swing by Godiva for my free piece of Chocolate-(gift from the Gods)-Godiva-not chocolate----lol.
Great shops and usually great shopkeepers. Occasionally, you may run into a Snarkie individual-just contact their home office( where the company originates) This works wonders and helps them keep an eye on their stores.
Alot of people 'Mystery Shop" or participate in Consumer  market research-and, you can make some nice money to shop with-doing this!
We will do our very next blog-listing some of these companies to do research for-for you!
So get out there-our temp is 8* right now-so maybe when it warms up a bit?--and shop til you drop-----at these prices-it is def. do-able. Zoweeee!

Pets are our children.

I participated in a market research study-online-about the feeding habits for our pets.
We have three rescues-two dogs and one kitten.
I love them as my children-and that was one of the questions-how do  you view your relationship with your pets?

Right now, there is such a need to help animals. With an awful economy and so many foreclosures, people just let their pets go or dump them when they have to relocate. Incredibly sad.

If you are in any way able to help-Please do so. Taking food to the local Food banks for pets would be such a help.
I didn't realize that they provided this service-but why wouldn't they? It is a wonderful thing to do.

Animals are the first ones to suffer in an economic downturn / or a disaster.........a very bad thing.

What is really wonderful,  is that once you relate to a pet---they become a huge part of your life.....undeniably marvelous......and you are able to grow, as a person.

Look in those beautiful eyes and see the love streaming out to you.....it is amazing....quite an experience....take a chance-give it a whirl......and I know you will be delighted and mesmerized with the result.

And you will know that you have helped with a very real issue that faces us all. God Bless you!
Not to mention the love and joy this can bring into your life.......it is Awesome.

Thank you, Precious Angels.......It was raining outside-too wet to play-on that frightful day.

I had a small accident on Saturday.....we have the sweetest dogs-but one is so muscular--that he is kinda tough to control-I bought a halter and will use it to walk him from now on---even to go wee-wee.

Anywho-said large puppy-dragged me inside so fast that I grabbed the door facing with my arms-still being pulled-they got twisted behind me--and I am still being pulled at the force of a small train-forward-I get slammed, after tripping and falling -into a metal wall of filing cabinets. My face took the most force.

Fun Times......I was so dazed-and scared-and then in shock----all in that order. My fiance' saw it happen and ran over-he said it looked like I had broken my neck-no kidding.

He kept trying to gently touch my neck...and I kept saying, "don't touch me"......I felt a burn all the way around my neck and left arm......scary stuff.

Busted my lip---I am bleeding and have bruises on my forehead, nose and a really nasty one on my neck......OUCH! On the other hand--the upper lip looks like Angelina Jolie's .....the only perk, I am afraid. haha.

So, I look like I walked out of , "Fight Club". And I have to say--thank goodness I did not have any broken bones.

My fiance' and his partner are so tough......I have seen the partner hammer his fist while driving a spike and he blows on it---no ice---just blows on it---may have something to do with being a martial arts black belt.

But they were so considerate-always are-of me.....actually, I scared the stuffens  out of my fiance'.

Most people would say-uhhuh....see...but I have come to the conclusion that one of the things I need to develop is a toughness, that while I may have on the inside-I do not have on the outside.

 I am a real girly-girl.

I mean I can still feel the scraped knee and shock from my first remembered fall when 5 years old....It was sunny and I was running on the sidewalk outside our house in the city, and boom. I didn't cry--I just had that sick and stunned feeling-just like Saturday-no crying----just a sick and shocked feeling.

Freak accident.

And I swear my Angel was there-when I felt my neck bend back-it felt like something surrounded me and pushed back. That warm feeling of sunshine beating down on me-like the day when I was 5.... I am so thankful for him. It could have been so much worse.

Most people say: why? did this happen-and I say trust me---there is a reason for everything that occurs of substance in our lives.  Just be thankful it wasn't worse......and I am-ever so much. Thank you, My wonderful Angel.

Our Detractors, the Disclaimers.. and worse..........yea-yea.

I used to work at one of the nicest boutiques in the whole wide world.....loved the peeps I worked with-the products were wow-wee, over the moon, awesome----upper management, not so great.

One of the most aggravating things we were required to do, was approach a customer (potential) as soon as they crossed the threshold.
And.....go thru a 5 minute spiel with them...our company specials-their needs-blah-blah-blah.....aggravating some of them to the point-that they just left. (effect a pained and browbeaten countenance).-mine.
Was a really stupid requirement-scaring our potential customers away... Can't say that enuff.

I remember one lady-being excessive in her nastiness to one of our clerks-so much so-that said clerk came in the back room-near tears----so I walk out and state: Mam-our company requires we ask you: did the spiel in overdrive---if you require no further conversation or help-have a grand day!
Needless to say-the snarkiness died in her eyes, under the effect of a pained countenance-(mine again,) really stupid. Cannot say that enuff!!!!!!!!!

Actually our manager was written up-if this stupid assine spiel were not performed.

This reminds me of modern day Christians-good-decent-honest-educated-worthy people trying to get the Good Word across to anyone. You guessed-I am one.......A Christian.....

Due to the insane and often time ridiculous bullshit that has been promoted in the name of greed and evil-yes, evil---we have earned a bad name. No wonder.

Past choices---sugary sweet yukkers or over the top insane ranting madmen and women......grrrr.
Sets most peoples teeth on edge. Me too.

But the plain fact is-we are required to spread the good news. And how on earth to do that in this world???

You might say-why do they do this? Act stupidly-well...there are jewels at risk-(here I am stating a reality-not a fantastic idea)...........yea, there are. And not here on earth.
You see, you can't buy your way into Heaven, but alot of peeps believe that you can certainly dress well in jewels, when ya get there....depending on the conversions you make here..,...to the cause.

God doesn't expect everyone will make it-not suppose to happen-and he implements "Free Will" to insure that only his true followers will be there.

Kinda like my sister on FB-playing the Farmville game.....try to outdistance  her and she will leave you in the proverbial dust. I know.

You see, some people look at anything from their own greed.......( not talking about my sister and her game-altho that is a great example) And others look at it from their capacity to win-big. ( that's her)

Some peeps are just good old fashioned folks who love a challenge.
And...they are like-I am not gonna be the only one in Heaven without some jewels up in my crown....
I so concur....
Me-I, fit this category....I do.

However,  I would turn in every crown jewel  I win/earn or can do---if  the people I love are going to be able to join me in the afterlife.......I mean it. More important than anything to me.....
It just is......
You see so many people irritated by  "Christians" hounding/annoying them to be saved-become a Christian...understandable ...I have and will never do anything so bizarre.

I was raised a Christian and am proud of that heritage. I always will be. I love and have the most fond memories of going to the church where I was baptised.
It was after-when that church split-due to politics ( money-again) that we went to a church-that I really didn't like.

This church had a Youth Minister that was a son-in-law of one of the very wealthy members of the church. ( that politics thing-ie again)  He told us we were going to get on a bus-drive around town-get out on street corners and approach people about being "saved".
I never went back.......I was 13 years old.

And it reminds me of why people do not like some Christians. They assume that everyone is the same crazed nutter that they have seen on TV,
Televangelists are sometimes perceived of as crazy-rightfully so-not to mention that a few have been found to be in a real state of dis-grace. Sad.

So, I do get why..people do not like fundamentalists churches or those Christians.
I mean, I don't like to have the crap aggravated out of me either. They give the rest of us a bad name.

I do want to share with anyone, the marvel I feel at being a Christian, because it is an awesome feeling. And it has enormous perks--I mean where else can you get your very own Angel?
Just one of the most amazing things........
I speak to a Deity each and everyday-sometimes more than once. And he listens......pretty cool.
His Son runs interference for me........if I do something really bad.
I can build up a portfolio for eternity that will not decline with the economy........nice.
The clothes and accessories will be, well, out of this world is not a realistic way of saying it----Absolutely Fabulous!!!!
Never sick-sad or mad!!!!!!Wow!
Just goes on and on---and all for believing in a Deity that so loved us he gave his only begotten son.....to a world, that instead of destroying him, they made him a symbol of Hope to all.
I am not a perfect person-even accepting of God-Jesus-all their teachings-I am human.....very---will and it is expected I will sin.
My biggie bad is that I cannot stop saying a word that gets me in the most trouble.......PENANCE...is what I have to do...I have prayed ( prayer is huge in Christianity) that God will help me remove it from my lexicon.

A friend of mine plays a game online and a man-young-she has never met-tries daily to convert her to Christianity...she was adopted/raised by devout Catholics-but is not a practising one in adulthood   was not a bad experience--just leaves her flat---she is highly intelligent and questions this thing called "Faith".
We somehow got talking about the afterlife--and we differ in opinion in what it will be and for whom....she said she just doesn't believe in purgatory.....I  replied with, not only does it exist--you need to pay people now to pray you out of it when you die (Catholics used to do this) and...I told her....you also better have the coins ready for the Ferryman....she really doesn't know how to take me or when I am serious or kidding.

Well, take it from me----I am damn serious. No disclaimer is gonna be there when you die--And the detractors will, unfortunately for them, not  be joining you....
God bless--I do mean that.....for everyone. Not just special me----we are all on an even playing field-right now..May God bless you all.
