Caramel Apple Easy.....

My Fiance and I stopped by a small farm, on our way back from a vendors show, this past weekend.
It is that time of the year where you find all of the fun Pumpkin and Apple Farms and Festivals.
I love to walk into, usually a barn-close to the road---and have all of the wonderful produce on display for the taking-after the cash has changed hands, of course. lol.
We end up taking home so much stuff----and we enjoy every bit of it.
I made Salsa with fresh tomatoes.
Slaw with fresh cabbage.
Goes on and on.
But, something I was really taken with was  the little Caramel Apple bar.
They sliced up a green apple-covered it in caramel and then added nuts.
Anyone who has tried to bite into a Caramel Apple, has had it all over their face.
It can be so messy----but delicious......very.
Here you use a fork or spoon.
Novel concept I know-varies from the stick routine.
But you get every bite........without wearing any of it.
Gotta like it-alot. We did!!!

Veggie Soup.....

I have to admit that I have hit upon a recipe for Vegetable soup that is awesome........something I do not have occur  so very often, with any recipe.
So here goes:

1 ) box Swanson Chicken Broth
2) cups water
1)  bag each -(I use Kroger brand at $1.00 a bag)---frozen:
Corn
Green Beans
Peas
I) can of diced tomatoes-a large one.
2) fresh carrots----sliced
2) stalks (from the inside of the stalk) of celery-diced.
3) small potatoes-cut into small cubes.
1) med. size English Roast-cut into cubes
2) cloves of  fresh garlic-diced
Salt and pepper
A large sprinkle of dried onion.
I put the whole thing in a large pot--------bring to a boil and then put on simmer for the rest of the day.
Or put it into a crock pot-just let it cook.
It is even better the next day---or.....if there is a whole lot left over ( just two-sometimes three of us) freeze it in individual containers to re-warm later in the week.
So easy to make.........
Enjoy!

Good Health.

We all want to achieve good health and definitely maintain it.
How can we insure we are doing the utmost to do so?
Food. Moderation and variety is key.
Vitamins.--not real damn difficult to determine------Brands---some very good ones out there.
Exercise.-You can join a gym--not necessary--start with walking.
Fluids.-Water-Green Tea-Juice ( lower the sugar level the better)
Rest.-This is different for everyone-recommended is 8 hours a night. Starting at 10pm--this is the supposed time your body regenerates itself...some health gurus actually take a vitamin shake before bed, to aid this process. A vitamin nightcap.
They all play a huge part in our overall health.
So does good mental health.---Read-listen to music-paint-sing-watch movies that make you laugh. ( unlimited ways to mentally relax) Really anything that makes you happy.
I will add a daily Probiotic.
When any of these get out of whack----we have the potential to become ill.
Skipping meals.---a big fat NO!
Burning the candle at both ends.-Just don't do it.
Not getting enough nourishment or fluids.-Try to stick to a routine.
Stress is a killer.---try to break out of bad habit patterns.
When sick:
The first thing any doctor you see, will do, is prescribe meds.......pharmaceuticals..
This is a poor response, albeit, at times absolutely necessary.
I like and think highly of Holistic medicine. The Holistic approach.
This has become a very amazing alternative to traditional medicine.
Most herbal remedies do not have the horrible side effects that traditional medicine does.
Alot of people are afraid to try anything different , because they have a life threatening illness----even if the medicine is making them sick.
I heard recently that the Chemo treatment a lady took gave her a heart attack and she died. Young.
This is a tragedy that should not happen.
A company that can help keep you healthy:
Shaklee.....has been supplying vitamins to people for over 50 years.
 Excellent skin care products also.
Stay healthy if you can...even if you start late in life......it is a very good thing.

The worse neighbor a girl can have.........

I live in the country.
There was a time that all country folk stuck together...through thick and thin.
Not so, in our little corner of the world.
We live in a wonderful spot-out in the wide open-beautiful clear blue skies-green fields-it really is a beautiful place.
And it should be just Heaven---until the guy behind us showed up.
What a whack-job!
AWOL for 5-6 years and then shows up out of the blue----causing an issue his first day back.
We have talked to our Sheriff's department about him twice.
Every time we encounter him-he tries his level best to cause a problem-doesn't matter what--just attention seeking nonsense.
He lies.
He calls names.
He tries to be a nasty bully.
We refuse to speak to him. Which is very very wise.
Let the officials do the heavy lifting with this nutter.
The problem is, he just will not stay away.
What is the matter with people like this?
Bad childhood? He is grossly overweight. A real fatty.
So am I, but I am not mean??????? Or a name-caller-or a blatant liar---or nutty?
People might disagree with that.the last part......certain people...lol.
Maybe he was not loved as a toddler?
He is not loved at all by his new neighbors.
Psychology usually explains it all.
So what to do? We have all seen the videos of crazy neighbors.
We just got some really stellar advice from the Sheriff's office, and we will follow it.
And we are documenting everything.
Very very sad occurrence.
Still, Karma will out. Always does.
Be a good neighbor.......build good Karma........we all need it.

The Farmers Almanac.......Boo!

Today-----I go outside at 7am, to take Mr. Puppy,  for his constitutional, and I look up into the sky-----and see a full moon.
Yesterday------I went outside at 7:30am, to take same Mr. Puppy, for his constitutional, and I look up into the sky ( checking for rain clouds) -------and see a full moon.
What is going on?
I just related this to a neighbor, who is visiting and he says----"well, you know, 2012 and all that'.
We chuckled......nervously.
Living in the country---like we do---- Quite lovely, a great deal of the time---I thought it was appropriate to buy a Farmer's Almanac........and the heck of it is....how the heck do you read the darn thing?
I did see that it was going to be below average temps. in Jan. and Feb........that is the down side to Ohio........it can seem like a bleak place when it snows and is soooooo cold.
Attitude is everything.
Think if I had cross country skiing on our 11 acres....using the two muscular dogs ( our babies) instead of me walking them, twice a day each, in blizzard like  conditions, for the  most of Jan.
 Mush!!!!!!
Guess what they would say to Mommie?????? erhmmmie.
I go to LL Bean and other outfitters and shop for ski clothing------never getting cold----would be awesome.
We have bonfires and sing-alongs-and ice fishing.........lololololololol
Hot toddy parties and extra Christmases'.........
Okay-Okay.
Back to the full Moon in daylight.
What is going on??
Nothing I can find in the old Almanac. Or perhaps it's there and I don't know where to look.
Maybe there is something about the Mayan thing-ie for 2012.
Look how silly it has made me.
